OUR MISSION
The Mainsail Restaurant strives to provide the freshest, tastiest food
possible in a relaxed, friendly, beach casual atmosphere. We work
closely with the local community, supporting local fisherman as well as
local farmers. We use only top quality ingredients, making all of our
sauces on premise. Mainsail is the place to be for those who want a
refreshing drink, the freshest food, and friendly Carolina service.
The Mainsail Restaurant has been run by the Pasquantonio family since
1994. Hurricane Fran destroyed our first restaurant in 1996, we reopened
at our current location in 2002. We have always enjoyed life on Topsail
Island, being active members in the community balancing business with
the environment.
As avid surfers and watermen, we choose to act responsibly at home and
with our business. We aim to be responsible stewards in these areas:
- Sourcing seafood seasonally to limit over harvesting.
- Working with local North Carolina commercial fisherman to enhance
local marine life.
- Not supporting long lining.
- Recycling
- Following the Monterey Bay Aquarium guidelines for responsible
seafood.
- Supporting local foundations and schools like the Turtle Hospital and
Topsail High School.
